Lucca

Lucca is a beautiful city surrounded by walls from the 16th and 17th centuries that are now used as promenades. In Lucca there are many old buildings, squares and churches, some of which are dated as far back as the 600s and 700s. There are a few museums and even festivals, for example the annual Lucca Summer Festival where many national and international artists perform. There is also Lucca Comic and Games, a pop-culture event where attendees dress up as different characters from movies and comic books.

Florence /Firenze

Florence is a very old city that is mentioned in writing as early as 59 BC. Florence has been of great importance to science, art, architecture and was a financial center during the Middle Ages. There are many cultural, historical buildings and parks that are well worth a visit, such as The Boboli gardens, Santa Maria del Fiore (Il Duomo), Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti... but you will enjoy marvellous architecture even just by strolling around aimlessly.

Pisa is one of the oldest cities in Italy, which is probably best known for its Leaning Tower, which (together with the cathedral, cemetery and baptistery in Piazza del Duomo) is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Pisa has a University that can be dated back to 1343 and has one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, established in 1544.
